Mariza K. James : Supervisor

Mrs. James joined Westmorland family in January 2006 and has Fifteen (15) years of experience in teaching.  She has taught KG 1, Gr. 1, Gr. 3 and Gr. 4. Her qualifications include an Associate’s Degree in Social Science, University of the West Indies Teaching Certificate and   a Certificate in Child psychology.  She is presently pursuing a Masters in Early Childhood Education. She is the manager of the school’s Drum Corps. She also teaches music to Preschool – Kindergaten2 and Craft to Grades 1-4 .Her hobbies include dancing, hiking, fishing and reading. Her philosophy for life is ‘for every one thing you regret, there are always one hundred more to be thankful for.’

Jessie L. Martin : Administrative Dean/Teacher

Administrative Dean/Teacher

Mrs. Martin joined the Westmorland family in September 1990. She has 42 years of teaching experience and holds a Teaching Diploma.  She is the Grade 6 teacher and specializes in Language Arts in the Junior School. She is also the Administrative Dean for Junior School.  She is a member of Mc In tosh House.  Her hobbies include reading, cooking and gardening. Her philosophy for life is “Reading is the key to all knowledge and knowledge will bring you the opportunity to make a difference.”

Sarojeni Persaud : Teacher

Mrs. Persaud joined the Westmorland family in January 2000. She has 25 years teaching experience. She is the Mathematics teacher of Grades 5 and 6 and is a House Mistress for Mc Intosh House.  Mrs. Persaud is a trained teacher and also the Indian dance group teacher at the school.  Her hobbies include reading, walking and engaging in cultural activities.  Her philosophy for life is ‘love thy neighbor as thyself.’

Ms. Cadet joined the Westmorland family in September 1990. She has 42 years of her 41 years. She is the Department Head of Grades 2-4 in the Junior School and a member of Brathwaite House. Her philosophy for life is ‘use two ways in spreading light; be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.’

Linda Phillip-Jones : Teacher

Mrs. Jones joined the Westmorland family in January 2013.  She has 40 years teaching experience.  She holds a U. W. I Certificate in Teacher Education.  She teaches Grade 1 and is a member of De Gale House. She is involved in managing the Beavers club and Reading Circle.  Her hobbies include reading, social work and preaching.  Her philosophy for life is “because Jesus lives, I can face tomorrow.”

Wendiann Ruffin : Teacher

Mrs. Ruffin joined the Westmorland family February 2014. She is the Department Head for Grades 5 and 6 in the Junior School.  She holds a U.W.I Teacher’s Training Certificate and has over 20 years of teaching experience. In addition, she teaches Social Studies and Science to Grades 5 and 6. She is a member of De Gale House.  Her hobbies include hiking, singing, drama, reading and writing.  Her philosophy for life is ‘never quit – a winner is not a quitter.’

Mrs. Reubin joined the Westmorland family in September 2014. She has 11 years of teaching experience. She holds a double Bachelors Degree in Education and Deaf Studies (A. S .L). She is a member of Brathwaite House. Her hobbies are playing netball, reading and hiking. Philosophy in life “Give God thanks, everything happens for a reason”.

Mrs. Antoine joined the Westmorland family in September 2005. She has 14 years teaching experience.  She is a Kindergarten 2 teacher and is a member of De Gale House. She has a UWI/Servol Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood Education and is presently pursuing a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Her hobbies include travelling. She also works with the Homework Club in the Junior School. Her philosophy for life is ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’

Ms. Gittens joined the Westmorland family in September 2014. She has 11 years of teaching experience.  She is presently pursuing a Bachelor in Literacy. She is a member of Comissiong House. Her hobbies are outdoor activities and travelling. Her philosophy for life is “With God ALL things are possible”.

Ms. Dominique joined the Westmorland family in September 2007. She has 9 of teaching experience.  She is a Pre-School teacher and a member of Comissiong House.  She is the leader for the Brownies.  Her main hobby is reading. Her philosophy for life is “behind every dark cloud there is a silver lining.”

Mrs. Edwards joined the Westmorland family in September 2005. She has over 12 years teaching experience.  She is a Kindergarten 2 teacher and a house mistress for De Gale House.  She holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and has received a wide variety of training in Education.  She is presently pursuing her Masters in Early Childhood Education. She manages the Beaver and Reading Club as extra-curricular activities and her hobbies include reading, hiking and gardening. One of her philosophies in life is “Believe in yourself, do not let anyone steal your joy”.

Ms. Noel joined the Westmorland family in September 2007. She has 9 years teaching experience. She is the Department Head for Pre School to Grade 1 in the Junior School. She is also Kindergarten 2 teacher.  She is a member of Mc In tosh House. Ms. Noel has had training with the UNESCO Youth Path and in hospitality arts. She is also in charge of the After Care and Homework Club.  Her hobbies include singing, dancing and conversing.  Her philosophy for life is ‘always do the best at what you do.’

Mr. Charles, BSc. He has recently joined the Westmorland team in September 2017. He has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology.  He is the Grade 3 teacher. He is among Westmorland School premiere hosts.

He is a member of Brathwaite house. His Extra-Curricula activity includes the Athletic Club.

Ms. Parke joined the Junior School teaching staff in September 2017. She is one of the Pre-School Teachers. She has holds a Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education. Ms. Parke enjoys playing Netball and she is a member of Comissiong house.

Anthony Kirton : Coach

Mr. Kirton (Coach Anthony) joined the Westmorland family in September 2013.  He is one of the Physical Education & Sport teachers and teaches Physical Education throughout the entire school.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and Sport and speaks Spanish fluently.   He is involved heavily in all sports clubs at the school including: Athletics, Football, Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball and Cricket.  His hobbies include hiking, reading and music and his philosophy for life is ‘Live in peace and love and enjoy life while you can.

Ms. James joined the Westmorland family in March 2016 as Administrative Assistant in the Senior Department. She later joined the Junior Staff at the beginning of the Trinity Term 2016 in the same position. Ms. James has held this portfolio for the past fourteen years at her previous place of employment. Her philosophy for life is ‘integrity cannot be bought, it’s a lifestyle.’
